Biography

I am the Sector Lead for Communities for the SEFARI Gateway. I have a wealth of experience, having worked on agricultural and rural policy matters with SRUC for the last 25 years.  Much of my work focuses on assessing the impacts of agricultural and rural development policy (in particular their reforms) and I have recently been heavily engaged in considerations of the consequences of Brexit on Scottish agriculture and wider agri-food supply chains. I am currently joint coordinator of the Rural Industries work package of the Scottish Government’s 2016-2021 Strategic Research Programme which is assessing the resilience of farm and rural business and how these businesses are adapting to change.  I maintain a close working relationship with SAC Consulting, where I provide policy advice.
